Maya Shammas, MD, is a 2006-graduate of Weill Medical College at Cornell University in New York City. Her postgraduate training includes her ophthalmology residency served at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital of Cornell University (2006-2010), during which time she was involved in special research projects regarding glaucoma and cataract surgery. Dr. Shammas completed her undergraduate education with honors at the University of California Los Angeles. She attained board certification in ophthalmology with the American Board of Ophthalmology. Furthermore, she has been included among the Super Doctors in Southern California many years. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
